Crunch Stitch Fingerless Gloves Free Crochet Pattern

Hello everyone!

It’s Friday once again and somehow Minnesota is still in the middle of a heat wave so we’re taking a slight break from working on winter clothing and doing some lighter smaller projects. Hopefully we’ll start cooling down again this week so I can get back to bringing you some more sweater options.

These fingerless gloves are a great project to pass the time since they work up quickly and use simple combinations of beginner friendly stitches to make a texture that looks lovely in variegated and solid colored yarns. These are also great for quick projects to help you stock up your fall and winter craft fair booths.

Let’s get hooking!

Supplies

1 100 gram ball of any weight 4 yarn. I used a color blend of Red Heart Super Saver that I’ve had in my stash for forever.

5.5mm crochet hook

Scissors

Darning needle

Abbreviations

Ch- Chain

HDC- Half double crochet

Slst- Slip stitch

Notes

The gauge should be whatever makes the first row fit comfortably round the top of your hand. If you need to go up or down in a crochet hook size then do it.

You can use different weights of yarn just work an even number of stitches in your first row and follow the rest of the pattern the same. Once you reach the thumb work as many chains as fits comfortably around your thumb. Skip a number of stitches that’s 2 less than you chained.
