Materials

Size 8 (5mm) needles

1 100 gram ball of worsted weight (4) yarn

Scissors

Darning needle

Gauge- 2 inches = 9 stitches. (4.5 stitches an inch)

Abbreviations

CO- cast on

K- Knit

P- Purl

RS- Right side

WS- Wrong side

Pattern

CO 37 stitches

At the start and end of every row you will knit 1 stitch (selvedge stitch)

Row 1 (RS)- K1 (selvedge stitch)K1, P1 across row until 1 stitch remains. K last stitch (selvedge stitch) You should end this row with 2 knit stitches in a row.

Row 2 (WS)- K1 (selvedge stitch) P1, K1 across row until 1 stitch remains. Knit final stitch (selvedge stitch) The final 2 stitches of this row 

Repeat rows 1 and 2 until ribbing measures 2 inches. 

End after a WS row, 

Body

Row 1 (RS)- K across

Row 2 (WS)- K 1st stitch (selvedge stitch) P across until 1 stitch remains. K final stitc (selvedge stitch)

Repeat rows 1 and 2 until piece measures 3 inches. 

End after a WS row

Begin top ribbing And repeat the first ribbing stection until you have 1 inch of ribbing.

Bind off loosely in pattern.

Sew the sides using your tail yarns. This weaves in your ends and closes the project at the same time!
