Tunisian Ear Warmer With a Twist Free Crochet Pattern

Hello Everyone!

It’s day 3 of our 10 days of giving crochet pattern blowout and today I’m bringing you another twist ear warmer, with a first for the website. A Tunisian crochet pattern! I’ve experimented with Tunisian crochet over the years and have always loved it but haven’t seen many other people using the technique so strayed away with using it to design patterns. Recently however I’ve been seeing a bunch of different posts about Tunisian crochet and figured it was time to bust back out the Tunisian crochet hooks.

The 10 days of giving I always like to take a little bit of time out of each post to promote some places you can donate your crochet items to. Today we are going to talk about homeless shelters. Most large cities have some sort of homeless shelter that are almost always in desperate need of donations. To find homeless shelters in your area just search homeless shelters near (name of your city). When donating to homeless shelters keeping the fiber you use in mind is very important. Acrylics, cottons, and superwash wools are often a great choice just make sure it is machine washable. Durability is another thing to keep in mind. Have a super soft luxury yarn that you need to be extra careful with? That might not be the best option for donating to homeless shelters.

Another great way you can support homeless shelters with your crochet is if you do any selling of your crochet items you can set aside a portion of your profits to buy items the homeless shelter is specifically looking for. Some items that are often sought after are socks, pads, tampons, non perishable and ready to eat foods. You can contact your local homeless shelters to get a specific list though.
