Hello Everyone!
It’s Friday and we’re coming up into the hottest part of summer so I’ve been making summer clothing like crazy lately. This week I’m bringing you my favorite top that I’ve made yet. It’s comfy, supportive, soft, breathable, and when I wear it I totally feel like disappearing into the forest to become some sort of cottage witch. On top of this being my favorite top that I’ve made yet it was by far the most fun photo shoot I’ve doe yet as well, I mean look at that magnificent pine cone.
The sizing for this will go up to 3X but I will also include instructions on how to fit it to your specific body alongside some basic sizes for those making this as gifts. The cups are nice and supportive of my plus-size readers out there, as you can see with mine, I wear the XL cups and don’t worry about any surprise flashes. The stitches are nice and tight but if you’re worried about the see-through a pair of pasties does wonders paired with crocheted clothing.

buy nowStomach Band
Rows 1-12- Work a c2c increase
Rows 13-46(or until it’s long enough to comfortably fit around your under bust)- Work c2c in a straight line. (Decrease 1 side, increase the other side)
Rows 47-58- C2C decrease.
Tie off.
The back weaves shut. to make the weave for the back you can either use a length of organza ribbon that’s long enough to cinch your top shut. I used a chain stitch for mine and I chained 140, wove it into the side of every third C2C row you can do it as loose or as tight as you would prefer.
Cups
Ch 16
Row 1- Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across until you reach the last chain. Work 3 sc in the final chain, place a stitch marker in the second sc of your increase.. Working in the backloop only of you chain row work 1 sc in the back of each ch down. (31)
Row 2- Ch 1, work 1 sc in each stitch until you reach your stitch marker. Remove marker, work 3 sc in the same stitch as the marker. Place marker in second stitch of increase. Work 1 sc in each remaining stitch. (33)
Rows 3-(17 Xsmall)(20 small)(23 medium)(26 large)(29 Xlarge)(32 2X)(35 3X)- Repeat row 2.
Tie off. Leave at least a foot long tail for sewing onto band.
Optional- make a sc border along the bottom. This will provide more support for your breasts, I did not use it in the pictures so you can decide if you would like more support than what I have.
For more custom sized cups make your chain so it reaches the bottom of your breast up to your nipple. Work the rows the same way until it fits you comfortably.
Sewing on the cups.
Fold your band in half, you can also count how many rows you have and find the middle cluster that way.
Place a marker in the center cluster. You will sew your cups on on either side of that marker.
Sew your cups onto your stomach band and weave in your ends.
Border
With your 3.75mm hook
Tie onto the top corner of your c2c band.
Ch 1, work 3 HDC into the top of each c2c cluster.
Once you reach the cup work 1 HDC in each stitch around until you reach your stitch markers. Work 3 HDC in the stitch your stitch marker was in. repeat all the way across the top. In the center between cups only work 2 HDC in-between your cups.
Row 2- Ch 1, work 1 HDC in each stitch across until you reach your stitch marker.
DC in the next 2 stitches *ch 1, skip the next stitch, DC in the next stitch* Repeat * until you have 1 stitch left before the space in between your cups. Ch 1, skip the next 4 stitches DC in the next stitch.
Repeat * until you have 2 stitches left before your stitch marker. Work 1 DC in those 2 stitches. Work 1 HDC in each remaining stitch.
Tie off.
Straps
Tie on one stitch over from the top of your cup (One stitch to the side of where your stitch marker is.)
Row 1- Ch 2, work 1 DC in the next 2 stitches. Do not work into the stitch you tie onto. Your ch 2 will count as your first DC.
Rows 2- 54- Ch 2, work 1 DC in the second stitch, and last stitch.
Tie off.
You could also chain to make a thinner neck tie of you would prefer. Or even tie on some ribbon.
Weave in ends.
Now you can put on your new top!
Before we go…
I hope you all liked today’s pattern I loved making it and have worn it almost every time I’ve left the house since. I plan on making a lot more clothing items this year that not only include plus sizes but instructions on how to fit it to your personal body type. I know there’s a lack of fat inclusive clothing in the crochet community and I plan on making an attempt to create a collection of all different kinds of clothing options for my larger readers of all body shapes and sizes.
If you liked today’s pattern and make one of your own I would love it if you joined my facebook group and posted a picture I would absolutely love to see what all of you make. You can also tag me on Instagram @crochetwithkiminsta. If you would like updates when I get new patterns released, see blog news, potential giveaways, etc you can follow my Facebook page as well.

Once again I hope you all enjoyed today’s pattern, and happy hooking everyone!
Finally somebody makes a tank top for plus size women my boobs are way bigger they’re double D’s so I’m gonna try to make it bigger kind of scared because I’ve never made anything like this but I am so glad I found you thank you just because we’re big girls don’t mean we don’t want to look good too
I’m glad you enjoy my designs! I do my best to keep all of my patterns as size inclusive as possible. Remember if you need a custom size for your breasts you can start the cups by chaining a length that will stretch from the bottom of your breast to your nipple then continue the cup pattern the same way from there until it gives you the coverage you desire!
