Easy Ribbed Slouchy Beanie Free Crochet Pattern

Hello Everyone!

It’s day 5 of the 12 days of Christmas pattern blowout! We are doing a lot of hats for this I feel like they’re something that everyone wears, they’re simple to make, and fast to do making them perfect for the spirit of this blowout! This hat uses beginners stitches and since it’s double crochet and bulky yarn it works up SO quickly. The simple texture of it also makes it perfect for unisex crocheting.

Supplies

2 balls of a weight 5 bulky yarn. I used serenity chunky from Walmart but I would arson suggest atlas from iceyarns it has such a huge color selection.

6.5mm crochet hook

Scissors.

Darning needle.

Label (optional) I use labels from this set on amazon.

Button for attaching pompom. I use buttons from this set on amazon.

Pompom. I use pompoms from this set on amazon.

Abbreviations

Ch- Chain

DC- Double crochet

FPDC- Front post double crochet

BPDC- Back post double crochet

Slst- Slip stitch.

FLO- Front loop only

BLO- Back loop only

Slouchy Beanie Pattern

Row 1- Ch 3, work 10 DC in the third ch from hook. Join to beginning with slst. You can also start with a magic ring if you would prefer just make sure you start with 10 stitches.

Row 2- Ch 2, turn, work 2 DC in each stitch around. Join to beginning with slst. (20)

Row 3- Ch 2, turn, *Work 1 DC in the next stitch, 2 DC in the next stitch* Repeat * around. Join to beginning with slst. (30)

Row 4- Ch 2, turn, working in the BLO *DC in the next 2 stitches, 2 DC in the next stitch.* Repeat * around. Join to beginning with slst. (40)

Row 5- Ch 2, turn, working in the FLO *DC in the next 3 stitches, 2 DC in the next stitch.* Repeat * around. Join to beginning with slst. (50)

Row 6- Ch 2, turn, working in the BLO work 1 DC in each stitch around. Join to beginning with slst.

Row 7- Ch 2, turn, working in the FLO work 1 DC in each stitch around join to beginning with slst.

Rows 8-15- Repeat rows 6-7

Tie off. Join color 2.

Row 16- Ch 2, turn, work 1 DC in each stitch around. Join to beginning with slst.

Rows 17-20- Ch 2, turn, alternate FPDC and BPDC. Join to beginning with slst.

Tie off. Weave in ends.
