Cropped Alpine Sweater Free Crochet Pattern

Hello Everyone!

The snow if FINALLY beginning to melt here in Minnesota and it has put me into such a spring mood. I’ve been spending so much time outside, possibly prematurely starting some seeds for my garden this year and of course some spring time crocheting! And as always that means plus size spring time crocheting because I’m trying to wear the clothes I make.

This cropped sweater can be made as long or as short as you would like it, the rows in the pattern are simply a suggestion. If you want this to end up as a full sized crochet sweater then just keeping working the repeat until it is full length! The sky is the limit with this project.

Border

Sewing shut

If you have a very long tail then feel free to use that otherwise get a long piece of yarn on a darning needle and attach it to the bottom corner of one of your sides. (You will be seaming both sides shut.

I seam it all shut using a whipstitch but you can choose your proffered method of seaming.

Starting from the bottom seam your sides together until you have (15- extra small)(17- small)(19- medium)(21- large)(23- extra large)(25- 2X)(27- 3X)(29- 4X)(31- 5X) stitches left unseamed. Once you reach that point weave in the string you used to tie it shut to secure your seam.

On the top seam the top of your shoulder flaps together using one of your ends.

Weave in the rest of your ends.
