Crochet Accessories You Will LOVE

Hello Everyone!

With Valentine’s day coming up I figured it would be a perfect time to do a little compilation of some product reviews. Over the last few years I’ve been trying out different yarn accessories and decided now would be a perfect time to share the ones I absolutely loved.

The items listed in this will be items that I have purchased or received over the last few years that I frequently use, gravitate back to, or really just make my life easier as a crocheter. With it being Valentine’s day you can send this list to your significant others to give them a little idea of what to get you, or just take this as an opportunity to treat yourself!

This post will contain affiliate links but like I said everything in this link will be items I have been using over and over again and LOVE.

Let’s get going!

Best Darn Yarn Tenders

You can find them on Amazon here

These were actually sent to me for free but the review is entirely my opinions on them. These may look a little strange but if you work with yarns that are center pull like red heart super saver and others of the like these are awesome especially if you bring your yarn with you places.

The purpose of these is to put over your skein of yarn and it helps keep it tidy. Another thing it really did well at is when I got to the end of the ball it kept it from creating a big knotty ball. It also protects your yarn from getting caught in crochet hooks, knitting needles or whatever else is in your bag that could mess up your skein.

I’ve been able to fit balls of yarn in these up to the red heart super saver jumbo balls. I think that’s about all that could fit in there but I have yet to see much larger skeins so it should fit just about any yarn you need. I have not tried these on a cake yarn yet but I think it would work well despite being a little long. Over all I love these, would purchase in the future if I needed more and are definitely a go to of mine when working with center pull balls.

Clover Yarn Cutter

You can find this product on Amazon here.

Now I got this YEARS ago. It has been with me since before I started this website, through multiple moves, and I love it so much. If you’re anything like me losing your scissors can happen as soon as you touch them. Seriously I’m terrible about this.

This yarn cutter though is a pendant with a circle blade in the center that has multiple open slots for you to put your yarn into and slice it. The pendant aspect is AWESOME. I’ve worn this thing as a necklace when I go out and am bringing just a small amount of yarn. I’ve put this on a keychain ring on my project bag to bring with me so if I can find my project bag I can find my scissors.

This guy is also awesome for car rides, and as far as I know it can be brought on a plane. I love this guy and when I lost it for a few weeks in my last move I was so sad about it because this thing is seriously one of my favorites.

Clover Yarn Ring

Now this ring I believe my Fiancee Logan got for me 3 or 4 years ago for Valentine’s day it might have been Christmas though. It was something I ad been looking at for months because I have a tendency of holding my tension very tight and I hurt my finger especially when working with rougher yarns.

This can sit directly on where you hold your tension so the yarn glides over this ring instead of your finger. It’s also great for projects where you just need to hold your tension tight it keeps you from getting that little indent where the yarn was going over. The back is adjustable as well so these will continue to fit your finger no matter what size they are. I’ve had to adjust it a lot because my weight fluctuates a lot and it’s always fit me very comfortably.

The inside of this will tarnish over time so if you have jewelry allergies or something I’d be a little careful with these but I have sensitive skin and it’s never bothered me. All in all this is one of my favorite crochet accessories and I suggest it to everyone I know who get’s into crocheting.

Project Bags

Now I don’t have a link for these this is just a suggestion of something to look into because they are amazing. I have a backpack I have a cute little yellow nd black one that I actually found at our local second hand store, and I have a small burlap one I received as a free gift from Ice yarns once.

These make keeping track of projects and bringing your projects places so much easier. Plus if you’re looking at supporting small businesses there are a ton of absolutely beautiful, fun, and well made ones on Esty. If you sew you can also find tons of easy patterns for these online, YouTube, Esty, etc.

Before we go…

This is just a small list to get you thinking about some different items that you might want for yourself or to get a loved one. I absolutely love having all these things and trying out different crochet accessories. If you have something that absolutely makes your life easier, or even that you just enjoy having to enhance your crocheting experience please tell me about them in the comments! I am always open to trying different things and love getting ideas from other people!

That’s all I got for you today just a surprise post in the middle of the week outlining some items I absolutely love.

Hope you all have a great day and happy hooking everyone!

  1. My favorite accessory is the Lego crochet hook holder my daughter made me. Haha but honestly, I always kept my collection of hooks ins pencil case and it was a huge pain to dig through to find the one I wanted. Now I keep the 3-4 that I use the most in the cup holder thing she made me and it’s not only kept my desk tidier, but it’s so much easier to pick up and start a project.

Also, those small IKEA bags are the perfect size for a small project and they’re less than $2. Highly recommend.

    1. I 3D printed myself a little hook case for mine because otherwise they just sit on my desk. I’ll have to look at those ikea bags because I have too many projects lol.
