Seedy Beanie Free Crochet Pattern

Hello Everyone!

I’m back again after missing last Friday. For those of you who don’t follow me on social media, or my newsletter (you should do both by the way!) I hurt my foot and wasn’t able to go get my photos done so I had to skip last week. I’m back this week though with a pattern that I’ve been super excited about. I don’t usually make items for myself, but when I saw this yarn I bought myself 2 packages because I knew I needed some stuff made out of this. Neon green is my favorite color and it’s so hard to find a bright neon yarn.

This pattern I did with a simple beginner friendly textured stitch to really show off the beautiful colors of this yarn. The textured stitch on this hat also allows for variegated yarns or self striping yarns to have less harsh color changes making it a great project to show off those beautiful yarns that just don’t work up right.

Let’s get hooking!

Supplies

5.5mm crochet hook. I use the Furls streamline swirls in the color Virgo.

About 60 grams of a weight 4 yarn. I use the Cakes Alpaca Worsted in the color Neon green, black, light gray.

1 faux fur pompom. I use one from this set of pompoms off of Amazon.

Button, for attaching pompom.

Leather label (optional)

Scissors, I like the clover yarn cutter.

Darning needle, for weaving in ends.

Abbreviations

Ch- Chain

Sc- Single crochet

DC- Double crochet

FPDC- Front post double crochet

BPDC- Back post double crochet

Slst- Slip stitch

Notes

Gauge- 7 stitches=2 inches

Either side can be the front side.

The pompom attaches to a button on the inside of the top of the hat. This works as long as you have the pompoms with the elastic loop.

You may sell projects you make using this pattern.

Before we go…

As always I hope you all enjoyed today’s crochet pattern, I really loved making this one and was super excited for a hat for myself in my favorite color. The simplicity of this pattern made it extra fun and relaxing to work on and I always get excited working with cake yarns when I get to close to the color changes. Something about seeing a new color makes me super happy.
