Introduction

Hello everyone! Today is day 5 of the 10 days of giving Thanksgiving pattern blowout! This is the first pattern of a new set that will be posting over the next few days. Along with the crochet messy bun hat, there will be a face warmer and another hat included in this set. Today’s design was made with red heart ombre and so are the rest of the items in this set. I absolutely love how this yarn worked up in these designs with subtle color changes despite puff stitch being a bit of a yarn eater.

This particular piece of the puff stitch crochet set is a messy bun hat. There is a hair tie crocheted into the top with an opening large enough to pull your hair through and tie it up. This pattern worked up very quickly for me and I really enjoyed making it. I hope you do too and let’s get hooking!

The bottom rows of the hat have a bunch of puff stitches, and it fades from dark purple on top to a lighter purple by the bottom.

Conclusion

I hope you all enjoyed today’s pattern, and like I said earlier this will be the first piece in another matching set of crochet projects. Recently, I have absolutely fallen in love with the puff stitch as you can probably see with some of my more recent patterns. Though it does end up as a tad bit of a yarn eater, all the items in this set will be able to be made with the same skein of Red Heart Ombre. This project can make amazing holiday presents and for stocking winter craft fair booths.

This 10 days of giving Thanksgiving pattern blowout is meant to raise awareness of how needed crochet items are in homeless shelters, women’s shelters, schools, and many other places. However, if you are unable to make items to donate this year looking through some of your old creations and finding ones no longer need can seriously help someone. If you live in an area where there are no shelters I seriously suggest looking into the I am not lost scarf project.

Once again I hope you enjoyed this pattern, and as always happy hooking!
