Hello Everyone!
It’s day 6 of our 10 days of giving crochet pattern blowout and today I’m bringing you a pair of flip top mittens made with the icicle drop stitch design. This design uses a series of single crochet stitches, double crochet stitches, and chain spaces to make a design that uses simple stitches and creates an interesting and complex design.
With the flip top design of these mittens it makes these mittens perfect for people who need to be able to use their fingers while still being able to cover up them up to keep them warm. This makes these a great option to donate to homeless shelters, women’s shelters, and veteran’s shelters. You can find local ones easily by searching what kind of shelter your looking for plus your town name. You can also keep these in your car to give out to people you come across who may need them. Another great option to get your crochet items to the people who need them most is to put them inside sealable waterproof bags and hang them at your local food shelves, parks, bus stops etc with a little note that lets people know that if they’re cold they can take them. If you want more information on this look up the I am not lost scarf movement. There you can also find more comprehensive lists of areas you can place these items to make sure they get to those who need them most.
This pattern along with all others published this month will be available as a PDF on my Patreon for my $6 and up tiers.

Before we go…
As always I hope you all enjoyed today’s pattern. I love making mittens especially in Minnesota where we’re only getting colder. These are also great because I can still do things like take photos outside, unhook my dogs leash, check my phone while still keeping my hands nice and toasty warm.
Remember this post will be available on my Patreon by the end of the month as a PDF.
If you enjoyed today’s pattern you can follow me on Facebook to see new patterns, and get the occasional blog and life news. If you make a project using one of my patterns you can join my Facebook group and show it off. I would absolutely love to see what you all make.
That’s all I have for you today! Once again I hope you all enjoyed today’s pattern and as always happy hooking!
