Hello Everyone!

It’s day 1 of the 12 days of Christmas pattern blowout! Feel like I just finished with the 10 days of giving, I can’t believe it’s already mid-December. Today I’m bringing you the matching cowl crochet pattern to last week’s crunch stitch men’s beanie. The whole idea behind the 12 days of Christmas pattern blowout is to bring you crochet patterns that can be made in 2 days or less, for those needing to complete some last-minute crochet presents. This cowl fits that perfectly and the hat and cowl set can easily be worked up in a weekend.

This cowl is a great crochet present for the men in your life, (I know how hard it can be finding patterns for men) and it can be made in any colors. If they have a favorite sports team or company colors, this cowl can easily be done with multiple colors to match those interests.

Let’s get hooking.

Supplies

I used a weight 4 yarn, wool ease by Lion Brand. Any weight 4 yarn will work but if you use a thicker yarn like red heart super saver you may want to go down a hook size to meet gauge.

5.5mm crochet hook. I used the Furls Streamline Swirls in the color Virgo which is available on Amazon.

Scissors. I like the pendant yarn cutter by clover which can be found on Amazon.

Darning needle. For weaving in ends.

Abbreviations

Ch- Chain

HDC- Half double crochet

Slst- Slip stitch

DC- Double crochet

FPDC- Front post double crochet

BPDC- Back post double crochet

Notes

Gauge= 7 stitches=2 inches 8 rows=2 inches

Work your slip stitches in the row loosely. You will need to fit your hook back into these stitches.

This cowl can be easily size adjusted just add more or less base foundation stitches, as long as it’s an even number the rest of the cowl will work up exactly the same.

Before we go…

As always I hope you all enjoyed today’s pattern. It was a lot of fun to make and I love how it turned out. The texture of this cowl and the simplicity of this pattern made it a lot of fun to make, I love watching textured form no matter how simple. Again it does have a matching hat as well to make it set, you can find the hat pattern here.
