Corner to Corner Poncho Free Crochet Pattern

Hello Everyone!

It’s Friday once again and the trees are changing color here in Minnesota which means the cold weather is coming sooner than I am ready for at least. With that in mind though I decided to whip up this poncho so when it does get cold I have a nice warm throw to wear.

This pattern can be made with any yarn in any weight as long as your corner to corner squares match the measurements! I did mine in a bulky yarn because Minnesota winters and all but I definitely plan on whipping a few more up in different weights of yarn.

This pattern will contain affiliate links this just means if you make a purchase using some of my links I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

This pattern will also be available in a pdf format by the end of the month on my Patreon.

Make 4 c2c squares for bulky yarn each side of the square should have 21 c2c clusters on each side.

If you are using a different weight of yarn then make 4 squares that measure across each side.

For sewing the squares together place your 2 main color for me that was blue on top of each other positioned like a diamond. Take your 2 side colors and fold them in half and place each side of the half on the top side of your diamonds.

Sew your squares together along the long sides and weave in ends.

Connect on the neckline with a slip stitch in your second color using your smaller hook. For me that was gray and a 6mm hook.

Sc around in each stitch along the neckline (3 sc per c2c cluster). join to beginning with slst. Ch 1, turn and sc in each stitch around. Join to beginning with slst and tie off.

Using your second color and smaller hook tie onto the bottom. You can tie on wherever.

Ch 1, and sc in each stitch around (3 sc in each c2c cluster) When you reach the corners sc in the last stitch before the corner, ch 3 and repeat down the other side. Join to beginning with slst.

Ch 1, turn, *sc in the next 3 stitches then work a picot. You work picots by working 2 ch stitches and sc in the first ch stitch.* Repeat * around. When you reach the corners work 1 sc in the ch 3 space, ch 1, 1 sc. For the picots you will count how many stitches you had BEFORE doing the corner and continue on from that count for where you will place the picots.

(This means if you worked 2 sc then reached the corner you will work 1 sc on the other side to continue your 3 sc then picot.)

Join to beginning with slst.

Tie off and weave in ends, you are now ready to wear your poncho!
