Columned Alpine Messy Bun Hat Free Crochet Pattern

Women wearing a crochet messy bun hat. The messy bun hat is gray and has a subtle texture going down the hat in columns.

Hello Everyone!

We’re just over halfway done with the 12 days of Christmas now, and it’s day 7! Today I’m bringing you a messy bun hat made with bulky yarn that’s a lot of fun to make. This hat works up super quickly, and weight 5 yarn is always a joy for me to work with.

This hat fits in wonderfully with the 12 days of Christmas theme, it can be made in a day or less, and would make an excellent crochet gift for the holidays. This crochet messy bun hat is worked round a hair tie so you can use the hat to put your hair up, or put it over an already existing bun.

Before we go…

As always I hope you all enjoyed today’s crochet pattern, this one worked up super fast, and I love the way the alpine stitch works up in crochet patterns. I made this crochet hat for my mom for Christmas (fits even better in the theme huh) because she’s been asking me for a messy bun hat for awhile now. Working with bulky yarns is also always fun for me, I just really like it.
