Introduction

Hello everyone, it’s Friday once again so here we are with a new pattern! If you frequent my blog, then I’m sure you know by now that I live in Northern Minnesota with my fiancee and dog. One big thing about Northern Minnesota is it gets very cold here so when the winter comes around I make a lot of items to keep us all warm. This crochet face warmer I actually made for my fiancee last year. With winter coming around again this is coming back out of the closet.

For those of you who are not sure how to do the moss stitch, I will be including a brief explanation, along with a link to a youtube video. This entire face warmer is done in moss stitch even the border so it’s really all you will need to know!

Let’s get started!

Crochet Face Warmer Pattern

To begin ch 30.

Row 1- Sc in the fourth ch from hook, *ch 1, skip next ch, work 1 sc.* Repeat * across.

Row 2- Ch 2, sc in first ch space, moss stitch across.

Row 3- 79- Repeat row 2.

If 79 rows are too small for you then continue repeating row 2 until it fits comfortably, yet snugly on your face.

Tie off.

Join with color 2 in the stitch you last worked.

Row 80- Ch 2, moss stitch across, at the end of the row ch 2 and do not turn.

Work 1 sc into the side of the second row. (You should be working into a ch 2 at the beginning of that row.)

Ch 1, skip the side of the next row and work into the ch 2 space at the start of the next row. Repeat across, this will be forming a moss stitch border.

When you reach the corner, ch 2 and moss stitch over your beginning ch row.

Ch 2 at the end of your beg ch row, repeat moss stitch border going down this side.

Once you reach the end ch 2 and slst into the first stitch of this row.

Finishing Up

With your darning needle line up your sides and whip stitch them together.

Weave in all of your ends and enjoy your finished face warmer!

Conclusion

I hope you all enjoyed today’s pattern. It can be whipped up using any weight 4 yarn and color combinations you enjoy. This crochet face warmer is quick to make and being beginner-friendly can be worked up in an afternoon. It can also be used to clean up scrap yarn stashes if you use them as the border color!
