Hello Everyone!
Today we have the first big pattern of the month of February and this is a first on the Crochet With Kim blog. a poncho! This pattern was a ton of fun to work up and since it’s pretty repetitive it was a great relaxing project to casually work on. The up side it’s also a one size fits most project and if it’s too small on you you can just add more rows! I’ll be including a finished measurement as well so if you think it will be too big you can just pull a few rows out of the repeats.

Supplies
4.5mm hook
6 50 gram balls of a weight 3 yarn in your main color, 3 50 gram balls of a weight 3 yarn in your secondary color.
Stitch markers
Darning needle
Scissors
Abbreviations
Ch- Chain
DC- Double crochet
HDC- Half double crochet
FPDC- Front post double crochet
BPDC- Back post double crochet
Slst- Slip stitch
Notes
From the top of the neck to the point it is 32 inches. If you need it to be smaller cut a few rows out of each color.
10 DC stitches=3 inches.
Poncho Crochet Pattern

Row 1- Work 79 foundation DC and join to beginning with slst for a total of 80.
Rows 2-12- Ch 2, turn, alternate FPDC and BPDC around. Join to beginning with slst.
Row 13- Ch 2, turn, *Work 1 DC stitch in the next 19 stitches, work 3 DC stitches in the next stitch.* Repeat * around. Join to beginning with slst. Place a stitch marker in the second stitch of increase around. You will have 4 stitch markers in your project.
Row 14- Ch 1, turn, *HDC in each stitch until you reach your stitch marker. Work 3 HDC in the stitch marker. Replace your marker in the second stitch of the increase.* Repeat * around. Join to beginning with slst.
Rows 15-22- Alternate working DC and HDC rows increasing in each stitch marker.
Tie off. Join color 2.
Rows 23-42- Alternate working DC and HDC rows increasing in each stitch marker.
Tie off, join color 1.
Rows 43-52- Alternate working DC and HDC rows increasing in each stitch marker.
Tie off join color 2.
Rows 53-72- Alternate working DC and HDC rows increasing in each stitch marker.
Tie off, join color 1.
Row 73- Ch 2, DC around, work 3 DC in each stitch marker. Join to beginning with slst.
Row 74- Ch 2, turn, alternate FPDC and BPDC. In each stitch marker stitch work FPDC, DC, FPDC. Join to beginning with slst.
Tie off, weave in ends.
