Crochet Flat Chemo Cap Free Crochet Pattern

Hello Everyone

It’s day 9 of the 10 days of giving crochet pattern blowout. Tomorrow will be the last one! Today’s pattern is not only quick and easy but it’s crocheted flat for those who are not a fan of working in the round. I know when I just started crocheting the first few rows of hats and such had about a 50/50 shot at ending up a tangled mess. So for those of you who are beginners and still want to make items traditionally worked in the round this is a great project for you!

We’re bringing you another Chemo Cap pattern today but the charity we will be talking about today isn’t specifically for cancer patients. The charity we will be talking about today is for anyone experiencing traumatic hair loss. Knots of love provides caps to cancer wards, veterans hospitals and more. They also have chapters and donation locations in every state across the United States.

This pattern along with all other patterns published this month will be available in PDF format on my Patreon by the end of the month for my $6 and up subscribers.

Row 1- Work 35 foundation DC. If you don’t know how to foundation DC then you can ch 35 and DC into the third ch from hook and in each ch across.

Row 2- Ch 2, turn, FLDC in each stitch across. (If you don’t know FLDC or BLDC then you can just DC you just wont get the ribbed texture)

Row 3- Ch 2, turn, BLDC in each stitch across.

Rows 4-26- Repeat rows 2-3

Tie off leaving a long tail (About 18-24 inches)

Sew your first and last row together. Then weave your yarn through the top loop of each row make sure you only pick up one loop otherwise you’ll have a bulky top. Cinch the top shut after you’ve woven through each stitch. Tie your yarn so it can’t come undone then weave in your ends.

Optional- Sew a button to the inside of the small hole left on top to attach a pompom to.

Before we go…

As always I hope you all enjoyed today’s pattern! It’s been ages since I last made a flat worked crochet hat and I think this is even the first one I’ve designed which is exciting with how much fun I had whipping this up I might need to come up with some more complex designs to work flat into hats and such sometimes it’s nice to not need to count increases or decreases especially since I’ve been making a lot of plushies in my free time lately.

Remember this pattern will be available on my Patreon as a PDF for my $6 and up tiers along with the other 9 patterns published this month.
