Alpine Scoodie Free Crochet Pattern

Hello Everyone!

It’s Friday once again and I’m here with another hooded crochet project. I told you last week AND the week before that I’ve been on a huge hood kick lately so I really hope you’ve all been enjoying the hood content. I sure have as I’m sure you can all tell.

This is a project my Fiancee has been begging mew to make him since I did the first hooded project a few weeks ago so I got it done up for him. He’s been wearing it around the house ever since so it’s getting its wear in. He wants a hooded poncho next so keep your eyes open for that coming up at some point in the future. (Not next week I have other plans for next week that actually don’t involve hoods.)

With warm weather quickly approaching we have just a few more weeks of warm weather items before I begin working on some summer designs. I’ll be ordering in all my summer yarns later this month and I have some big plans so I hope you’re all excited and as always all my adult clothing will be plus size inclusive!

This pattern will be available on my Patreon by the end of the month for my top 2 tiers as a PDF for those who would like to print or download to view later.

Hood

Count in 54 rows from either side and place a stitch marker in the 54th row.

Row 1- Tie on to the side of the row your stitch marker is in that has the wrong side of your project facing you. This is the side without the texture from the alpine stitch. Work 2 sc into the side of each DC row (Including the side of the DC row you tied onto.) continue until you reach your other stitch marker.

Row 2- Ch 2, work 1 DC in each stitch across.

Row 3- Ch 1, sc in each stitch across.

Row 4- Ch 2, *DC in the next stitch, FPDC in the next stitch of your previous DC row.* Repeat * across. (You will end with 2 DC)

Rows 5-24- Repeat rows 3-4 (you will end on a DC row)

Tie off leaving a long tail.

Fold your hood in half and use your tail to seam it down the center. Weave in your end to fasten the seam.

Border

Tie on in your first or last sc on either side. Ch 1, HDC into the same stitch you tied onto. Work 2 HDC in the side of each DC row. Skip your sc rows.

When you reach your hood just continue working in the side of each DC row going around the hood.

When you reach your other end HDC in the side of your sc row at the very end, Ch 2, HDC across the short side of your scarf. When you reach the end of your short side, ch 2, work 1 HDC in the side of that sc row, then continue working 2 HDC in the side of each DC row. Repeat the same at the other end of your scarf. When you reach your first stitch slst into it.

Tie off. Weave in all of your ends and now you can wear your scoodie!
