I’m here today with the second pattern of the week. With spring in full force I figured a crochet ear warmer would be a perfect pattern.
This crochet ear warmer uses the sedge stitch, which if you’ve been around here recently you would know I’ve been absolutely obsessed with this stitch lately. I absolutely love the texture it makes, the way it looks with self striping and variegated yarns, and it keeps my mind busier while working it.

Supplies
5.5mm crochet hook
1 ball Fair isle yarn (If you make the fair isle hat you will have plenty left over to make this ear warmer.)
Scissors
Darning needle
Abbreviations
Ch- Chain
Sc- Single crochet
HDC- Half double crochet
DC- Double crochet
Slst- Slip stitch
Special Stitch

Ear Warmer Pattern
Row 1- Ch 2, work 71 foundation sc, join to beginning. (Will end with 72 foundation sc)
Row 2- Ch 1, turn, work 1 sc in each stitch around. Join to beginning with slst.
Row 3-10- Ch 1, turn, work HDC, DC in first stitch. *Skip 2 stitches, sc, HDC, DC in third stitch* Repeat * around. Join to beginning with slst.
Row 11- Ch 1, turn, work 1 sc in each stitch around. Join to beginning with slst.
Row 12- Ch 1, turn, work 1 sc in each stitch around. Join to beginning with slst.
Tie off.
Weave in ends.
Before We Go
As always I hope you all enjoyed today’s pattern. This ear warmer uses a stitch that I have really been enjoying, and it works up super quickly.
This crochet ear warmer can be done with any yarn to make a unique pattern each time making it a great item to quickly stock up a crochet craft fair booth. This can also be a fantastic item to make in the colder months to donate.
This ear warmer uses less than 50g of yarn making it a great project for using up left over yarn from other projects. I haven’t tried it yet but I think switching colors every other row would be absolutely beautiful with this pattern.
