Gently Ribbed Crochet Baby Hat

Light green gradient crochet baby hat. It fades into spots of white with green dots throughout it.

Hello Everyone!

We’re back here on another Friday and today I’m bringing you my first crochet baby project. A cute little crochet baby hat!

Recently a few of my friends had babies and I am absolutely loving the opportunity to crochet for them! I’ll be working on some clothing for them soon but today I have a little hat!

Being a baby hat this project used very little yarn and worked up extremely quickly. You could easily make multiple of these on a weekend and it’s perfect for those who like donating baby hats to the hospitals.

This hat is also made in a thinner yarn so it can be used for the winter, fall, or spring months.

This pattern uses yarn from Ice Yarns that I hadn’t tried before and I LOVED it! I will be writing a yarn review on it shortly because I know ordering yarn online can be intimidating. This post will also contain affiliate links. If you make a purchase using some of my links I’ll make a small commission at no extra cost to you!

Let’s get hooking.

Supplies

4mm crochet hook. I use the 4mm hook from this clover set https://amzn.to/37aZ2rk

Baby design green shades from Ice Yarns you can find it here http://bit.ly/2G2q35b

Darning needle

Scissors

Abbreviations

Ch- Chain

Hdc- Half double crochet

Slst- Slip stitch

Special Stitch

Hdc puff stitch- For this stitch, you will get 3 loops on your hook as if you were working a normal hdc. Once you have 3 loops, yarn over, insert hook into the same stitch and pull up another loop. You should now have 5 loops on your hook yarn over, and pull through all 5 loops.

Tie off

Before we go

I hope you all enjoyed working on today’s crochet baby hat with me! I really enjoyed designing it, it worked up quickly, and was nice and relaxing.

This is also my first time working with actual baby yarn and I loved it. It was so soft the pattern actually took me longer to design that it should have because I just wanted to keep feeling the yarn!
