Hello everyone!
I skipped a pattern last week due to the holidays coming up and getting my Patreon prepped for the month so I’m here with the first pattern of July! July is also my birthday month and for my birthday I got an awesome bike and needed a way to carry something to drink and obviously a crochet project to bring with. So I made myself a backpack and figured it would be great to share with you guys.

Supplies
4.5mm crochet hook
6mm crochet hook
1 ball of a weight 4 worsted weight yarn. I used a ball of red heart super save ombre. This project used about half of it.
Optional- Scrap yarn in a complementary color
Scissors
Darning needle
Stitch markers
Abbreviations
Ch- Chain
DC- Double crochet
FLDC- Front loop double crochet
Sc- Single crochet
Slst- Slip stitch
Crochet Backpack Pattern

Start with 4.5mm crochet hook
Row 1- Ch 20. DC in the third ch from the hook and in each ch across. When you reach the final stitch work 5 DC in the last stitch. Place a stitch marker in the third ch from hook. Work 1 DC in the backloops of each chain stitch. When you reach the final stitch on this side work 4 DC. Join to beginning with slst.
Row 2- Ch 2, turn, DC in the first 2 stitches, work 3 DC in the next stitch, place a stitch marker in the second stitch of your increase. DC in each stitch until you are 2 stitches away from your next stitch marker. Work 3 DC in that stitch place marker in second stitch of increase, DC in the next 3 stitches, 3 DC in the next stitch, place a marker in the second stitch of increase. DC in each remaining stitch, Work 3 DC in the last stitch. Place marker in second stitch of increase.
Rows 3-8- Ch 2, turn, DC in each stitch around. When you reach the stitches your markers are in remove marker, and work 3 stitches in the stitch your marker was in. Put marker back into second stitch of increase.
Row 9- Ch 2, turn, BLDC in each stitch around. Join to beginning with slst.
Rows 10-28- Ch 2, turn, DC in each stitch around. Join to beginning with slst.
Row 29- Ch 2, turn, *DC in the next stitch, ch 1, skip 1 stitch* Repeat * around. Join to beginning with slst.
Row 30-31- Ch 3, turn, skip the first ch space *DC into the next DC stitch, Ch 1, skip ch space.* Repeat * around. Join to beginning with slst.
Tie off and weave in ends.
Straps
With your 6mm crochet hook take the yarn you used with one other color (you could also just use both ends of your ball just make sure you are crocheting with 2 strands of yarn.
Make 2
Ch 200. Tie off.
Weave your strap through half of your chain spaces repeat with your other strap on the other half of chain spaces.
Locate the space made in your first row from the 5 DC in one stitch. one end of both straps through the space and tie a large knot. Give it a good tug to make sure it is sturdy. Repeat on the other side.
That’s it that’s your backpack!
